Willem Stassen

Associate Professor Willem Stassen leads pre-hospital and emergency care systems research at the University of Cape Town’s Division of Emergency Medicine. A paramedic by training with a PhD in emergency medicine, he has authored dozens of peer-reviewed papers on African EMS systems, serves on editorial boards including the African Journal of Emergency Medicine, and supervises a new generation of African EMS researchers.
